FERPA, minors, school use, and AI data boundaries for Edura.
Edura is an education discovery and planning platform. This page explains how our general Privacy Policy applies to students, families, counselors, schools, and other organizations.
Edura is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly provide services to children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal data to Edura, contact us at support@getedura.com so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
When an educational institution, counselor, employer, or other organization uses Edura for its students or members, that organization may act as the data controller and Edura may act as a processor. Organization customers should review our Data Processing Agreement and Subprocessors page before using Edura with student data.
Edura does not claim to be a school official or FERPA-certified service by default. If a school intends to use Edura with education records subject to FERPA, the school should first complete a DPA review and define the scope of records, users, retention, and deletion obligations in writing.
Edura is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Schools or guardians should not direct children under 13 to create Edura accounts or enter personal information into Edura.
The AI assistant is for educational guidance and planning support. Users should not enter highly sensitive records, health information, government identifiers, financial account details, disciplinary records, or confidential school records unless an organization has completed an appropriate data protection review and agreement with Edura.
Edura may process profile details such as education interests, school or institution, grade level, goals, preferences, and AI chat context when users provide them. We use this information to personalize recommendations, support platform features, and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
Users and organization customers can request access, correction, deletion, or export by contacting support@getedura.com. Organization requests involving students should identify the relevant account, record scope, and whether the request comes from a school, guardian, counselor, or student.
