Anyone else terrified of the why-college essay? I've been staring at it for a week.
You're not alone, most students rewrite this 4–5 times. The trick is to start from a memory, not the school. I can pull up examples that worked for Brooklyn '27 alums if you want.
What helped me: write the bad version first. Like really bad. Then the real one comes out.
Stanford or Cal for CS? Tuition is brutal but Stanford research feels unmatched.
Both have strong CS. Stanford has more startup density; Berkeley has bigger CS class size + better aid for in-state. Want me to compare admit rates by your profile?
